Tokenized equities lead RWA inflows as the market recovers; Binance's bStocks hit ~$118.5M in two months, now #2 issuer and ~90% of on-chain equity DEX volume.

  • RWA proved resilient through the crypto contraction and is growing into the recovery - total active RWA market cap has surpassed $30B, roughly 6x its 2024 level, with RWA share of both spot and perps volume climbing all year.
  • Tokenized equities led 30-day RWA inflows at +$480.6M (25.4% of total), narrowly ahead of Bonds & MMF and Gold/Commodities, with those three categories making up ~75% of net inflows.
  • Binance bStocks is the standout: fastest-growing tokenized-ETF issuer, reaching ~$118.5M and second place by market cap (past xStocks at $94.5M) within ~2 months of its 10 June launch. Ondo still leads at $350.5M.
  • bStocks dominates on-chain activity: ~90% of tokenized-equities DEX volume, ~58k daily active traders (vs. ~10-18k Robinhood and ~5-8k xStocks), and top 30-day transfer volume in names like QQQb, SPYb and SPCXb.
  • The tokens are used, not just held: in July 58.5% of bStocks holders also traded perps or direct equities, ~31% of AUM was posted as margin collateral, and weekend/off-hours trading signals genuine price discovery - helped by launching into Binance's 300M+ user base with 1:1 USDT conversion.
  • RWA activity has proven resilient - holding up through the broad contraction in crypto trading and now growing into its recovery, with RWA turnover rising alongside the market's rebound rather than lagging it. Within that, capital is rotating toward tokenized equities, which led 30-day RWA inflows. Binance, with its bStocks offering, has emerged as one of the fastest-growing platforms in the space.

RWA total active market capitalization has surpassed $30B, roughly six times its 2024 level (~$5B). The steepest expansion of the entire series has come over the past twelve months, with near-vertical growth through 2025-26.

RWA's share of CEX spot volume has climbed all year even as overall trading activity contracted, and it's holding up as the market turns back up. Spot volume fell ~80% from its February peak (~$835B → ~$178B by early August) before rebounding to ~$400B in the week of 17 August - and RWA grew into that recovery, with turnover up ~50% week-on-week to ~$2.5B. The headline share eased from ~0.95% to ~0.6% only because total volume rose faster, not because RWA softened - RWA flow is proving structurally sticky and contributing to the rebound.

Measured across both CEX and DEX venues, RWA share of perpetual volume rose from ~0.3% in January to a peak of ~37% in early August. It eased to ~16% in the week of 17 August, but - as on the spot side - that reflects a surge in total perps volume rather than any softening in RWA: RWA perp notional actually rose ~23% that week to ~$161B. Stripping out that one-week volume spike, RWA share is running in the low-30s%, having climbed steadily despite the broader decline in perps activity.

Over the past 30 days, ETFs was the fastest-growing meaningful RWA category, up 34.7% to $70M and the single largest share gainer, still <1% of RWA market cap.

Tokenized ETF market cap now stands at ~$639.5M. Ondo leads at $350.5M, but Binance bStocks has moved clearly into second at $118.5M - now ahead of xStocks ($94.5M) - having gone from launch (10 June) to above $100M in roughly two months. That is the fastest trajectory in the set.

On-chain, bStocks now accounts for roughly 90% of all tokenized-equities DEX volume.

bStocks also leads participation: daily active traders peaked at ~74k in early August and currently sit near ~58k, a multiple of both Robinhood (~10-18k) and xStocks (~5-8k).

Stocks & Equities led RWA net inflows over the past 30 days at +$480.6M (25.4% of total), narrowly ahead of Bonds & MMF (+$471.7M, 24.9%) and Gold/Commodities (+$470.1M, 24.9%). These three categories accounted for roughly 75% of net inflows, while Real Estate, Other RWAs, and Carbon/Environment recorded small net outflows. The flow data corroborates the market-cap share rotation.

Binance bStocks sits at the centre of this market share rotation: it recorded the fastest growth trajectory of any tokenized-ETF issuer, reaching ~$118.5M and second place by market cap within roughly two months of its 10 June launch - overtaking xStocks.

bStocks launched into Binance's existing 300M+ user base with no cold-start, trades directly against USDT in-app, and converts 1:1 with the underlying share, lowering the barrier to entry. That edge shows up on-chain: bStocks leads 30-day transfer volume across the top tokenized-stock names, concentrated in flagship products such as QQQb, SPYb and SPCXb.

Crucially, the tokens are used, not just held: in July 58.5% of bStocks holders also traded perps, direct equities, or all three, ~31% of bStocks AUM was posted as margin collateral (as of 25 Aug), and weekend/off-hours trading points to genuine price discovery outside US market hours.
