
SoftBank's $40 Billion OpenAI Investment Loan Adds 21 New Lenders
PANews reported on July 27, according to Jin Shi, people familiar with the matter revealed that the $40 billion bridge loan raised by SoftBank Group for investment in OpenAI attracted 21 new lending institutions during the broader syndication phase. Sources said these new lenders collectively obtained approximately $7 billion of the loan amount. Among them, First Abu Dhabi Bank, GIC, and Standard Chartered each subscribed to close to $1 billion. The remaining funds were allocated to some banks in Europe, Japan, and Taiwan region. Sources said the remaining $33 billion of the bridge loan is currently held by underwriters and senior lenders but may be further syndicated in the future.
